Day 100: A Quiet Celebration

One hundred days after surgery. Not a finish line, but a meaningful milestone. A day marked by calm progress, small functional wins, reflection, and a conscious choice to celebrate discipline over impulse.

The morning started with a gym session. Triceps and biceps. Let’s pump these babies.

Back home, the kids went to school and the house went quiet. Coffee and breakfast with my love. Calm, grounding, exactly what I needed. Then off to the office.

I drove today. Getting into the car feels easier now. The leg feels better. Still a bit stiff, but I think yesterday’s stretching helped. Sitting dominated most of the day again, so I made an effort to walk a bit more whenever possible.

Back home, the knee felt better overall, though still bigger than normal. Progress, but not perfection.

Later, I took my middle one to tennis. Traffic was brutal, but we made it. Watching him enjoy the sport is something special. I can almost see myself at his age, discovering the game. I can’t wait for the day I can step on the court with him.

Back home, the usual chaos of putting kids to sleep. Then calm again. Stretching and ice to close the day.

Today marks one hundred days since the surgery.

That deserves a celebration.

Wine? No.

I celebrated with something better. Strong will. A clear head. A glass of water.

Well done for showing up for one hundred days.
