Week 11

Day 73: Adjustments and Reassurance

A slightly stiffer day, but with less visible swelling and reassurance that recent weight changes and lab results are normal post-surgery responses.

I woke up feeling okay, but a bit stiff. Yesterday’s light and easy feeling was gone. Not replaced by pain, just absence. The knee felt a little smaller though, less swollen. That felt like a quiet win.

I did a quick flexion session in the morning and headed to the office. Sitting most of the day again. I tried to move whenever I could, but it’s much harder here. At home I can adapt. At the office, the chair always wins.

I had an appointment with my GP today. Last month, before my trip, he asked me to run some standard exams. A few numbers came back off, and I wanted to understand them properly. Cholesterol was higher than usual. Still not worrying, but officially elevated. Glucose was 111. Ferritin and lymphocytes were also slightly high.

He wasn’t concerned. Surgery creates inflammation and the body reacts. Add travel, less movement, and routine changes, and the numbers drift. He explained that this is expected and should normalize within six months. Hearing that helped.

We also talked about the weakness in my hand. It’s improving since stopping crutches, but we’ll keep an eye on it. It may be cervical. For now, observation.

He did acupuncture to release tension in the leg and hand. We also talked about weight gain and the heavy feeling. Walking with crutches uses around 30 percent more energy. Now that they’re gone, metabolism is adjusting. Feeling heavier makes sense. Temporary phase.

After that, I met Cleyber. The knee was still painful, so we adjusted again. Less ambition, more precision. Lateral work and isometrics first. He also applied laser therapy to help calm the tendinitis.

Back home. Ice. Sleep. Nothing heroic. Just letting the body work.
