Woke up in the morning and did some exercises.
I have to say, I feel super motivated right now. That’s new energy, and I want to use it well.
Today was my first time traveling since surgery. A short trip, bout two hours by car, heading to the farm. We stopped briefly at a gas station. Overall, it went fine. We have a big car, which helps a lot, but still, the knee didn’t love it.
By the time we arrived, there was noticeable swelling. First thing I did was elevate the leg and ice it. That helped. Still, I’m starting to wonder if my small ice pack is really enough. I might need to upgrade my recovery equipment here.
Being around family is great - but also draining. Social situations take more energy than I expect. By the evening, I was completely done and went to bed early with my little princess.
The night wasn’t great.
I woke up four times to go to the bathroom again. I still don’t know if this is surgery-related or just the amount of water I’m drinking, but it’s disruptive.
Progress is there.

- Elevation and ice immediately after travel are essential
- Recovery equipment may need to scale with activity levels
- Social time consumes more energy than expected
- Fatigue accumulates quietly during “normal” days
- Sleep disruption remains an ongoing challenge
- Progress exists even when comfort is inconsistent
