Day 97: Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Better sleep helped, but pain returned with training and walking. A day that highlighted the emotional difficulty of inconsistent recovery and the patience it still demands.

I slept well this time. The bed wasn’t as comfortable as the previous hotel, but the sleep was much better. I think lighter dinner and no dessert helped.

I started the day at the gym. Chest first, then I decided to properly train legs. Machines, squats, controlled movements. It was painful. That familiar worry came back. The kind that makes you question everything.

Back in the room, breakfast, then ice and rest. Trying to calm both the knee and my head.

Later, museums, taxis, and more walking. The knee kept reminding me that recovery isn’t simple. It gets bad, then better. Pain disappears, then comes back stronger. It’s exhausting mentally.

I can’t wait for the day when I can walk normally again. Without pain. Without feeling like an old guy carefully calculating every step.

We had a family lunch with traditional Minas Gerais food. Heavy, comforting, full of flavor. Then straight to the airport and back to São Paulo.

I got home completely tired. Pain had increased, so I did another ice session. It helped, but the worry stayed.

Kids to bed, a movie, and an early night.

Another reminder that healing isn’t a straight line. It bends, tests, and teaches patience whether I like it or not.
