Week 14

Day 94: Perspective in Motion

A travel day that turned into a lesson in perspective. Art, nature, and stillness shifted the focus away from the knee, even as new sensations reminded me that recovery continues to evolve.

Early morning came fast. Shower, waking the kids, and heading to the airport. Traveling again.

A quick breakfast before leaving, then an easy flight. Delayed a bit, but we landed on time. A driver was waiting, and I spent almost two hours sleeping in the car before finally arriving in Inhotim.

Inhotim is a contemporary outdoor art museum. Imagine a museum inside the Atlantic forest. It’s beautiful. Truly beautiful.

We arrived at the hotel, had lunch, but check in was still a few hours away. Instead of waiting, we decided to go straight to the park with a guide. Walking through the installations stirred something deeper. Art has a way of doing that.

Seeing works from Kusama and Oiticica made me think about life and how it moves quietly in front of us. How problems that feel overwhelming, like my injury, can suddenly shrink. There is so much more to life than sport, performance, or physical limits. That realization alone made the day worth it.

Later, back at the hotel, I felt tired and noticed a strange pain in the knee. A new one. Not near the surgical area, more on the outer side. I acknowledged it but decided not to give it too much space.

I went to the pool and swam four hundred meters, without a buoy. Then sauna. Dinner came easily, and sleep followed quickly and deeply.

A full day, for the body and for the mind.
